Job Satisfaction

Ways to express Dissatisfaction

A dissatisfied worker conveys his dissatisfaction in following ways:

1. Exit

The most probable response to dissatisfaction in increased rate of turnover. Employees may feel to re-establish themselves at new place rather than stagnating in the current organization.

2. Voice

An employee may discuss the matters of dissatisfaction with his supervisor and tires to find out better ways of improvement.

3. Loyalty

The employee loyal to his organization believes in the management and passively waits for the improvement to be taken place.

4. Neglect

Some employees may show frequent absenteeism, reach office late, take long hours of break, increased error rate and reduce their performance.

Exit and Neglect are destructive behaviours while Voice and Loyalty are the constructive ones. The figure illustrates four responses, which differ from one another along two dimensions: constructive/destructive and active/passive.
